Job Summary:
As a Production Coordinator for National Geographic’s Yellow Border Production Services team, you’ll support a dynamic, fast-paced production department. You’ll assist Executive Producers, Producers, Associate Producers, and the Production Services Management team in delivering high-quality content for the National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo Wild, and streaming platforms including Disney+ and Hulu. Responsibilities include overseeing final delivery of content, ensuring compliance with editorial, legal, and quality standards, assisting in the development of concepts, and managing post-production deliverables.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in research, development, and pitch writing to align with National Geographic’s creative vision.
- Support production from pre-production through post-production.
- Develop and track production schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
- Create and manage show deliverables, including music cue sheets, credits, footage logs, and graphics logs.
- Coordinate with legal to review content rights, work with third-party vendors, and organize narration resources.
Basic Qualifications:
- 1+ years of content production experience with a production company or network.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and storytelling abilities.
- Inclusive mindset with a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
- Familiarity with basic computer skills and MS Office; knowledge of editing systems is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Non-fiction content production experience.
- Additional language proficiency.
Education Requirements:
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree.
- Preferred: Film Production, Television Production, Journalism, or Communications.
Compensation:
In Washington, D.C., the salary range for this position is $51,120 to $70,290 annually, based on a 40-hour work week. Compensation is influenced by internal equity, geographic region, and candidate experience. Benefits include health, savings, retirement, and time-off programs, among others.
