As a Milk Collection Truck Driver, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth transportation of fresh milk from farms to processing facilities, contributing to the success of this innovative initiative.

  • Location: Ogun State, Nigeria
  • Reports to: Milk Collection Center Manager
  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Travel Requirement: 50%

Key Responsibilities

Milk Collection & Delivery

  • Follow the weekly milk collection schedule, ensuring prompt pickup from designated communities and safe delivery to Danone Fan Milk’s processing facility.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene during transportation.
  • Monitor and regulate milk temperature and storage conditions during transit.

Fleet & Vehicle Maintenance

  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and ensure the milk collection truck is in optimal condition.
  • Conduct minor repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of fuel consumption, mileage, and maintenance logs.

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.
  • Follow all TechnoServe policies on vehicle usage and transportation safety.
  • Ensure all vehicle documents, insurance, and emergency supplies (first aid kits, spare parts) are up to date.

Operational Efficiency

  • Coordinate with milk collection centers and farmers to optimize route planning.
  • Provide support in logistics and supply chain management for efficient milk transport.
  • Assist in record-keeping and reporting related to fleet management and milk transportation.

Qualifications & Experience

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum secondary academic qualification, National Diploma, or Higher National Diploma in any Art or Social Science field.
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s License (Class E or G).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience driving in Ogun, Osun, and Oyo States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience driving trucks.
  • Experience in milk transportation or logistics is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with farmers and milk collection center personnel.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel) for record-keeping.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).
