About the Role: As a Picker & Packer at FMD Produce, you will be an integral part of our operations team. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately pick and pack fruit and vegetable orders according to customer requirements. This role requires attention to detail, physical endurance, and a proactive mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Picking and packing fresh fruit and vegetables as per customer orders.
- Ensuring produce is handled with care to maintain quality and freshness.
- Loading and unloading produce, with the ability to lift boxes weighing up to 20kg.
- Performing general warehouse duties, including cleaning and organizing work areas.
- Working collaboratively with the team to meet nightly deadlines.
- Following all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Skills and Attributes Required:
- Experience: Previous experience as a store packer in the fruit and vegetable industry is highly advantageous.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of handling physically demanding tasks and lifting heavy boxes.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to pick orders accurately and efficiently.
- Communication: Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members.
- Attitude: Positive “can-do” attitude and willingness to take initiative.
- Time Management: Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work night shifts from Monday to Saturday.
- Additional Advantage: Possession of a forklift license is desirable but not essential.
