Position Details:

Education & Experience for Flatbed Truck Driver
- Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of relevant truck driving experience
Work Setting
This is an on-site position, and employees must be physically present at work locations. Remote work is not an option.
- The job includes local, regional, and long-haul transportation.
- Deliveries and pick-ups may involve various locations, including international, national, and provincial routes.
Job Responsibilities for Flatbed Truck Driver
As a Flatbed Truck Driver, your primary duties will include:
- Planning or adjusting routes using GPS or other navigation tools to maximize fuel efficiency and reduce carbon emissions
- Providing professional customer service while interacting with clients
- Inspecting and ensuring the proper functioning of the truck, including brakes, lights, tires, cold storage units, and other essential equipment
- Performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and documenting findings
- Conducting emergency roadside repairs when necessary
- Receiving and relaying dispatch information in a timely manner
- Recording cargo details, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
- Securing loads using tarping and other safety measures to prevent damage
Required Certifications & Licenses
Applicants must have the following certifications:
- AZ Class License
- Air Brakes Endorsement
- Class 1/1F/A Licence (for semi-trailer trucks)
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
- Valid Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
- WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) Certificate (preferred)
Experience and Specialization
Applicants with experience in handling the following documentation will be given preference:
- Accident/incident reports
- Bill of lading
- Driver logbook
- Inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
- Maintenance and repair reports
- Trip reports

Work Conditions & Physical Demands
- Physically demanding work, requiring lifting and securing loads up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
- Handling heavy loads and working in various weather conditions
- Extended periods of sitting while driving
- Occasional overtime required
- Repetitive tasks

Drivers must be prepared to use and maintain the following equipment:
