What Will I Be Doing?
As a Chef de Partie at Hilton Toronto, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and directing food preparation in assigned areas for restaurant and banquet production, ensuring the highest quality and presentation standards.
- Supervising the culinary team in your section, ensuring all team members are trained, and performing at their best.
- Developing daily specials and assisting in the creation of new menu items for the restaurant and banquet events.
- Managing food inventory, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring food is stored appropriately to avoid waste.
- Ensuring operational safety of kitchen equipment and compliance with health and hygiene standards.
- Training and mentoring culinary apprentices and team members to help them grow within the industry.
This role is crucial in maintaining the high standards expected at Hilton Toronto and enhancing our guest experience.
What Are We Looking For?
To be successful in this Chef de Partie position, you should have:
- An Apprenticeship or completed culinary program from a recognized hotel school or college.
- 3 years of progressive experience, with at least 1 year as a Station Chef or in an equivalent position within a fast-paced, high-volume culinary environment.
- Strong knowledge of classical & modern cuisine, banquet production, and current culinary trends.
- A valid Food Handler Certification and a passion for high-quality food production.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Experience in a high-end dining environment or at Hilton hotels will be a distinct advantage.
