About the Role

The Voice Picker role is essential to the warehouse operation, ensuring that supermarket goods are accurately selected and prepared for distribution. As a Voice Picker, you will be responsible for following voice-commanded instructions to pick and stack specific orders onto pallets. Additionally, you will assist with unloading full pallets, performing repetitive heavy lifting, and operating pallet trucks to transport goods efficiently. This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a smooth warehouse operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Voice Picking: Utilize voice command technology to accurately select and pick products.
  • Stacking & Organizing: Properly stack picked items onto pallets for transportation.
  • Heavy Lifting: Handle and move heavy loads efficiently and safely.
  • Unloading Pallets: Assist in unloading and sorting full pallets.
  • Operating Pallet Trucks: Use equipment to move stock across the warehouse.
  • Ensuring Accuracy: Double-check order selections to prevent errors.
  • Maintaining Warehouse Standards: Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Following Safety Regulations: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to create a secure work environment.

Shift Details

We offer flexible shifts to accommodate various schedules. The available shifts are:

  • Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and one weekday.
  • Shift options: 3:00 AM – 1:30 PM OR 1:30 PM – 12:00 AM (Midnight).
  • This is a temp-to-perm role, offering full-time hours for committed workers.

Pay Rate

  • $24.11 per hour (with opportunities for overtime and progression based on performance).

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience & Skills:
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in warehousing, pick packing, or voice picking.
    • Experience using voice-picking systems is preferred but not mandatory.
    • Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented warehouse environment.
  • Physical & Work Requirements:
    • Must be physically fit and able to perform repetitive heavy lifting.
    • Comfortable lifting heavy items consistently throughout the shift.
    • Reliable transport to and from work.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and early morning shifts.
  • Work Ethic & Compliance:
    • Strong attention to detail to ensure order accuracy.
    • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and Ministry of Justice (MOJ) background check.
    • Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
