Job Responsibilities

  • Track workloads and locations of personnel
  • Provide vehicle operators with traffic updates and problem alerts
  • Coordinate dispatch operations according to schedules and work orders
  • Handle emergency dispatch situations as needed
  • Monitor and maintain shipment records
  • Possess knowledge of highway trucking regulations and guidelines
  • Keep detailed logs of driver activities, including mileage, fuel usage, repairs, and other expenses
  • Use dispatch equipment to communicate instructions and coordinate vehicle and crew operations
  • Address emergency calls from individuals in life-threatening situations needing assistance
  • Plan schedules and coordinate vehicle, crew, and equipment activities
