Job Summary

Greatland Farms LTD is actively hiring dedicated individuals for the role of Farm Worker in Maple Ridge, BC. This full-time, permanent position offers flexibility in hours and a competitive wage of $20 per hour. We are searching for candidates who are passionate about agriculture, ready to work on-site, and capable of handling various tasks essential to our farm operations. No formal education is required; however, hands-on experience is a plus.

Job Responsibilities

As a Farm Worker at Greatland Farms LTD, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Field Preparation: Clearing fields of wood, stones, and debris to maintain optimal crop growth.
• Greenhouse Maintenance: Cleaning and preparing greenhouses to ensure a healthy environment for plants.
• Fertilization and Cultivation: Mixing fertilizers, planting, cultivating, and irrigating crops to enhance productivity.
• Weeding and Pest Control: Weeding and spraying crops for pest and disease control.
• Harvesting: Assisting with hand harvesting of vegetables, cutting seeds, and performing general farm duties.
• Farm Safety and Biosecurity: Supporting the development and implementation of farm safety and biosecurity measures.
• Machinery Operation: Operating and maintaining farm machinery and equipment.
• Supervision: Coordinating and supervising the work of general farm workers and harvesting laborers.
• Staff Training: Hiring and training new farm staff as needed.

This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a physical, outdoor environment and have a strong interest in sustainable farming practices.

Requirements

• Location: On-site work only; remote work is not an option.
• Experience: 1 to 7 months in a similar role (preferred but not mandatory).
