Salary: $73,150 – $78,000 per year
The South Australian Potato Company is actively seeking two dedicated Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operators to join our dynamic team. This role is essential for the effective production of high-quality potatoes and the harvesting of various cereal crops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate agricultural machinery, including harvesters and tractors.
- Prepare and position mobile plant equipment for efficient operation.
- Execute routine operations involving tractor-drawn implements and self-propelled equipment.
- Adjust speed, height, and depth of implements to optimize performance.
- Service plant machinery and perform minor repairs to ensure operational efficiency.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all farm activities and operations.
- Manage and operate centre pivot irrigation systems.
- Conduct general farm maintenance and participate in various farm activities as needed.
- Be available for weekend work and night harvesting in rotation with the Farm Manager.
Key Attributes and Experience: The ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Proven experience in potato production, particularly with potato harvesting.
- Familiarity with general cereal crops and cover crops.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Previous experience in managing staff is highly regarded.
- Excellent communication, computer, and reporting skills.
