We are excited to announce a permanent full-time opportunity for a Cleaner in Charge at Avonvale Primary School, a vibrant, community-focused institution dedicated to implementing the Berry Street Education Model. Key Responsibilities:

As the Cleaner in Charge, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and clean environment for our students and staff. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Opening and Closing the school premises.
  • Performing internal cleaning duties, such as maintaining carpets and hard floor surfaces, cleaning toilets, dusting, and rubbish removal.
  • Managing external cleaning tasks, including cleaning verandas, rubbish disposal, and maintaining outdoor areas.
  • Conducting vacation cleaning duties, which involve stripping and sealing vinyl floors, window cleaning, and shampooing carpets.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

In this role, you will ideally have previous experience supervising staff, as you will work alongside school staff and manage team performance in collaboration with the Manager Corporate Services. You will also handle:

  • Maintaining the cleaner’s time book.
  • Arranging relief staff as needed.
  • Monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Obtain a valid Working With Children Check.
  • Consent to a National Criminal History Check.
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid visa with work rights for the duration of the appointment.
