Department Overview:
Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) is the foremost global music publisher, boasting a roster of prominent contemporary songwriters and artists. UMPG also leads the production music sector, providing high-quality music for film, television, advertising, and corporate clients.
Position Summary:
As a Coordinator in the Copyright department, you will be responsible for facilitating song registrations and ensuring accurate data management. Your role will involve direct communication with writers and publishing clients to gather and enter new song information into our system, as well as resolving disputes and maintaining client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contact writers and publishing clients to request new song information and register songs in our system.
- Review and verify song schedules for accuracy and consult with A&R teams as needed.
- Resolve song disputes and overclaims with clients and external parties.
- Maintain and update song delivery lists and client contact information.
- Onboard new clients and guide them through our royalty portal, UMPG Windows.
- Respond to song inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide administrative support to the department as required.
Qualifications:
- Language Skills: Fluent in English and Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, especially with numerical data.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with strong data entry skills and internet research capabilities.
- Customer Service Orientation: Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to solve problems analytically.
- Team Player: Cooperative, enthusiastic, and organized with strong project management skills.
- Experience: 0-1 year of experience; basic understanding of music publishing is a plus.
- Education: Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Passion for Music: A deep love and understanding of Latin music is highly valued.
