Qualifications
- Language: English
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: 1 to less than 2 years in woodworking or edge banding
This on-site position requires all tasks to be completed at Kingsview Kitchen & Cabinets’ location in Brampton. The environment is noisy and requires a focus on safety and precision.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
- Setup and Operate Woodworking Machines: Set up, program, and operate both computerized and manual woodworking machines, including CNC machines
- Fabrication and Repair: Fabricate or repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures, and other wood products
- Operation of Gluing Machines: Operate gluing machinery to bond wood pieces, press veneers, or affix other materials
- Read and Interpret Specifications: Understand and follow blueprints, verbal instructions, and specifications
- Maintenance: Clean, lubricate, and replace parts on machinery and equipment as necessary
Specialization and Equipment
Experience with specialized woodworking equipment is preferred:
- Computerized Woodworking Machines
- CNC Machines
- Gluing Machines
- Drills, Planers, Routers, Sanders, Saws
- Door Machinery
Work Conditions
- Environment: Fast-paced, repetitive tasks, physically demanding
- Physical Requirements: Manual dexterity, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, and walking; standing for extended periods
- Safety Gear Required: Steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, mask, ear protection
