Job Overview
Join Virdi Transport as a Dump Truck Driver and play a vital role in our operations. This full-time position requires a dedicated individual to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently at our Brampton location.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving and Operation: Operate and drive straight or articulated dump trucks to transport materials.
- Loading and Unloading: Ensure safe loading and unloading of goods.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections; perform emergency roadside repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Communication: Relay information to central dispatch and adhere to safety protocols, including tarping and securing cargo.
Qualifications
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of driving experience preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications:
- AZ class license
- Air Brake Endorsement (Z)
- Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate
- Driver’s License (Class 1 or A, Class 3 or D)
- WHMIS Certificate
Physical Demands
Candidates must be able to:
- Handle heavy loads (up to 23 kg / 50 lbs).
- Work in a physically demanding environment with repetitive tasks.
- Maintain attention to detail and work under pressure.
