Job Overview:
As an Occupational Therapist, you’ll work in a transdisciplinary team to support children with disabilities and their families. Your role includes:
- Assessing and providing interventions to enhance children’s play, social, and daily living skills
- Implementing assistive technologies and prescribing mobility equipment
- Supporting children in various environments, including home, school, and early learning settings
- Collaborating with families and professionals to deliver individualized, family-centered therapy
Qualifications and Requirements:
To be successful, you must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with a relevant professional body
- A valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass the NDIS Worker Screening Check, NSW Working with Children’s Check, and VIC Working with Children’s Check
- Experience or interest in working with children with developmental delays or disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients, families, and colleagues
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working with adaptive equipment, modifying learning environments, and supporting infants and young children with disabilities
- Familiarity with standardized assessments and evidence-based therapy strategies
