Role Overview: HSE Officer
As a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring safety compliance at the Whitianga Solar Farm. This position is essential to maintain high standards of health and safety throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead safety compliance: Ensure all health, safety, and environmental standards, regulations, and PPE requirements are adhered to.
  • Challenge the status quo: Promote safety-first thinking and challenge existing processes to improve safety measures.
  • Conduct audits and inspections: Perform site audits, inspections, and monitor compliance; document and report findings.
  • Hazard management: Coordinate and manage the site’s hazard identification program, focusing on elimination, isolation, and minimization of risks.
  • Training and assessments: Conduct staff training, competency assessments, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed.
  • Document management: Maintain accurate reporting, hazard management documentation, and training records.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in an HSE or similar role within a project or construction environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Ability to foster a positive HSE culture and lead safety initiatives within teams.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with a can-do attitude.
  • Full NZ Driver’s License (Class 1).
