Kingston Community Health Centres (KCHC) is searching for a motivated and organized Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team in Kingston, Ontario.

As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of the clinic. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Client Service:
    • Welcoming and assisting clients with warmth and professionalism.
    • Booking, canceling, and rescheduling appointments, including prescription renewals, referrals, and tests.
    • Answering client inquiries regarding healthcare services and OHIP requirements.
    • Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming waiting area.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records (both physical and electronic).
    • Preparing reports and completing documentation as needed.
    • Assisting with billing and insurance matters.
    • Managing clinic inventory and supplies.
    • Supporting the transition to electronic client records.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration:
    • Working cooperatively with healthcare professionals to provide seamless client care.
    • Contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment.
    • Supporting colleagues through knowledge transfer and training.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Office Assistant diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a healthcare or administrative setting preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in various software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, electronic medical record systems).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and culturally sensitive care to all clients.

Additional Assets:

  • Experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.
  • French language proficiency (an asset).
