Responsibilities of Long Haul Truck Driver Jobs
- Tasks Include:
- Addressing customers’ complaints or concerns
- Coaching colleagues on new work techniques
- Providing professional customer service
- Driving as part of a two-person team or convoy
- Loading and unloading goods
- Operating and driving trucks for material transportation
- Overseeing vehicle condition and inspections
- Performing brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
- Conducting pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
- Performing preventive maintenance
- Recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption
- Ensuring safety and security of cargo via tarping
- Transporting and handling dangerous goods
Credentials:
- Certificates, Licences, Memberships, Courses:
- AZ class license
- Experience and Specialization:
- Documentation knowledge (e.g., accident reports, logbooks)
- Communication systems experience (e.g., CB radio, GPS)
