Job Summary:

QatarEnergy LNG is seeking a highly motivated Field Safety Officer to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel at our offshore facilities. Operating in a fast-paced and demanding environment, you will be responsible for implementing and overseeing comprehensive safety programs, proactively identifying and mitigating potential hazards, and fostering a culture of safety excellence throughout the organization.

Field Safety Officer Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for safety equipment, ensuring its optimal functionality and readiness.
  • Regularly inspect and test all fixed and portable safety equipment, adhering to established protocols and regulations.
  • Assist in developing and delivering engaging and effective oil and gas safety training programs, tailoring content to specific roles and responsibilities.
  • Monitor and closely supervise the activities of maintenance and construction crews, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and adherence to the permit-to-work system.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to incidents and emergencies, leading investigations to determine root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide expert advice on formulating, implementing, and continuously improving oil and gas safety programs, incorporating best practices and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of safety data and key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing trends and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate the allocation and stock of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE), ensuring sufficient availability and proper utilization.
  • Conduct regular safety walks, inspections, and audits to proactively identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Champion a positive safety culture within the organization, promoting safe work practices, fostering open communication, and encouraging continuous learning.
  • Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including engineers, supervisors, and employees, to promote a unified approach to safety and risk management.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments and regulations in oil and gas safety, continuously updating your knowledge and expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in safety operations within the oil and gas industry.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of oil and gas safety regulations, best practices, and international standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
